Dr. Brenda Asiimwe-Kateera

Dr Brenda Asiimwe-Kateera is a public health specialist and leader with more than 18 years’ experience in managing large public health programs, academia and policy. She is currently the Country Director for AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) in Rwanda which is the largest not for profit organization offering HIV services to more than 1,500,000 people in 46 countries. Previously she was the Director of Research and lecturer at University of Rwanda, College of Medicine and Health Sciences where she established the Grants Management and Research Support Office. She also worked as a research study coordinator and physician at Mulago Hospital and Makerere University- Johns Hopkins University Research Collaboration. Dr Kateera has also provided leadership and coordinated multiple research and training initiatives with various donor and partners and has more than 30 peer reviewed publications and is an invited speaker at several conferences and meetings. She also serves on several boards and advisory groups.

Being a leadership enthusiast and very passionate about facilitating people to achieve their maximal personal and professional potential, Brenda is an International Coaching Federation (ICF)certified coach, is a certified Straight Forward Financial Growth Coach and has also founded Charisma Bookstore which is the leading Christian Bookstore in Rwanda.

Dr Brenda Asiimwe-Kateera has a medical degree from Makerere University- Uganda, Masters degree in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University-USA and is a PhD candidate at University of Amsterdam- Netherlands.

Brenda is a lover of God, married with 2 children and lives in Kigali, Rwanda.
