Lilian Katiso

Lilian Katiso, A Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA), a member Institute of Certified Public Accountant of Uganda (ICPAU) with an MBA from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University and a Bachelor of Commerce-Accounting degree from Daystar University, Kenya.

She has gained immense experience in accounting and financial management from working in both the NGO and the private sector in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi since 1999.

Lilian is a Certified Entrepreneur Trainer and Consultant by the Regent University Center for Entrepreneurship. She also writes articles about accountancy, finance and business management on The Accountancy and Business Clinic Facebook page,The Accounting Gardener Blog, Linkedin and other publications.

Her pro bono work earned her the ACCA Uganda Outstanding Contribution to the Accountancy & Finance Profession award 2016. She also featured among the Top 40 under 40 Most Elite, Inspirational & Influential Women of 2017 in Uganda.

Lilian is a coach/Facilitator at the Business Development Centre for Entrepreneurship and Zaddock Associates. She has been an Entrepreneurship Mentor with HiiL for the Justice Accelerator in Uganda, African Entrepreneurship Award, Resilient Africa Network and AMPION.

She is a co-founder, Zaddock Associates where she currently runs the following public programs:

1) Accountancy 360 – Beyond Balancing Books

2) QuickBooks Accounting Software Training

3) Management of Business Finances

4) The Journey To Financial Freedom

She is the Proprietor of Maua and More, a garden centre located in Garden City, Kampala, Uganda, a business borne out of my gardening hobby.

Lilian holds experience in; financial management and administration; Grant management; accounting systems development and assessments; internal control systems set up; Budget Preparation and Monitoring; Risk analysis and Management; Training /Facilitating financial management courses; Advising, installing, customising and training in computerised accounting packages – with a specialization in QuickBooks Accounting Package.

She has also managed grants and carried out trainings on organisations and projects funded by TearFund – UK, Cordaid, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention – Atlanta, Johns Hopkins University, University of Minnesota, Medicines for Malaria Venture – Geneva, University of California, San Francisco campus, USAID East Africa, Trade Mark East Africa, Guttmacher Institute, IICD Netherlands, Dan Church Aid.
